Lobby foyer of serviced apartments in Shanghai (Xin Tian Di)

The lighting units, totaling 88 units, were installed on marble topped veneered cabinets, housing electronics, i.e. lighting, surveillance, p.a. system and data transmission via under floor ducts to the audited central control room

The 80:20 nylon/wool Axminster carpet was made in 7 different designs, for intense pedestrian traffic, using three China factories due to the yardage needed in this 1m sq. ft project

Lighting was single largest area of savings achieved
Extruded acrylic chandelier dominating atrium in lobby was exceptional example
4000 cut & polished extrusions accessed & maintained from a moving stainless steel gantry created what was regarded as the largest chandelier created, a world record. Engineers on the structural design were Arup.

Lighting package included all corridor down lights, room lights, and designed lighting

This client is a major listed Eu group with exceptionally high standards
8 years ago we were briefed to help them shift sources from Italy and Spain to China, as client faced rising prices in EU
Process took 6 months, extensive prequalification, from hundreds of factories and scores of visits & factory audits
Choice was narrowed down to 5-6 suppliers who could meet standard
We also successfully identified the actual suppliers in China who were supplying the client’s existing suppliers in Europe
We continue to manage this business and have shipped hundreds of containers for their high end projects, including wall and floor tiles, as well as granite

Sofas – Contracted by major EU brand name sofa manufacturer to identify and source from China based high end leather sofa manufacturers. Project involved primary research of over 100 which fitted criteria, leading to a short list of 10 factories which were assessed by client and two selected, Project deadline dictated by trade show launch dates and completed in 6 months

Steel furniture – Transfer of furniture production from Chicago to China, involving steel pressings, assemblies, welded fabrications, mouldings, fasteners, packaging, rolled section, hr and cr steel, and product development and test. Project started in 2004 and has grown every year with SEL providing input on supply chain management and logistics. Involvement in marketing and distribution has grown to 15 countries

Industrial equipment – Middle East group wished to develop their representation of western and Asian industrial companies in the engineering field and to develop logistics and technical support in supply chain. Representation was secured for around 20 industrials and multi $m tenders won for construction, water, oil, power and cement sectors

Tendering of a container handling terminal in Basrah Iraq – by involving specialist consultants in Asia on container handling, and in depth review of industry end users, we constructed a financial model of the project and managed the bid process, securing the franchise for a 50,000m² project in the south port area.

Scaffolding – sourcing forged and cast fittings, plastics textiles, and MRO products for the construction industry, and assisted in developing new products, from concept to patenting and tooling
